Why ON3?

I know the process from the inside.

For 12 years I was a trademark and movable property registrar at Costa Rica's National Registry. I examined the same kind of applications I now prepare for my clients. I know what stalls a filing, what triggers an objection, and how to present an application so it moves forward.

Today I combine that experience with university teaching and copyright management for academic, written, audiovisual, and multimedia production at UNED. At ON3, you work directly with me from start to finish.

How I work

Clarity at every step, no surprises.

  1. We talk

You tell me what you want to protect and what concerns you. A first conversation to understand your case.

  2. Assessment

I review prior rights and risks and explain your options in plain language.

  3. Written proposal

Scope, estimated timelines, and fees agreed before any work begins.

  4. Filing and follow-up

I file, follow up, and keep you informed of every step until the final outcome.

Is your trademark available?

Before investing in a logo, packaging, or advertising, request a preliminary review. I'll tell you whether similar marks are registered in Costa Rica and how viable your registration is.

Frequently asked questions

I already incorporated my company. Is my brand protected?

Not necessarily. Incorporating a company protects its corporate name, not your trademark. To use your trade name and logo safely, the trademark must be registered separately.

How long does a trademark registration last?

In Costa Rica, a registration lasts ten years and can be renewed indefinitely for equal periods.

Does my Costa Rican trademark protect me abroad?

No. Protection is territorial: if you plan to export or sell in other markets, it's best to plan registration in those countries from the start.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

It depends on your case and whether objections or oppositions arise. After our first conversation, you receive a written proposal with fees and estimated timelines.

Do you work with clients remotely?

Yes. I work remotely with clients across Costa Rica and abroad, meeting by Google Meet. If needed, meetings can include real-time translation into your language.

Let's talk about your brand.

Tell me about your case. I'll reply personally.
